Resident Reflections - Clyde Franz

Clyde Franz lived in West Virginia after retiring as President of Inter-American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Upon the recommendation of a friend, Clyde and his wife toured Pisgah Valley Retirement Community and moved here 18 Years ago. Clyde is an active resident who enjoys daily walks through the campus and the use of the Wellness Center.

Pisgah Chaplain, Ed Couser

Ed Couser has been a pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist church for 25 years. Currently he pastors the Asheville North and Fairview SDA churches. He also served as a chaplain in the United States Air Force Reserves for 25 years. Ed states that he enjoys one on one conversations with the residents at Pisgah and values their wisdom.

Medical Director recieves recertificication as a Certified Medical Director in Long Term Care

Dr. Jane Brummer, Pisgah's medical director, was recertified by the American Medical Directors Certification Program as Certified Medical Director in Long Term Care.
As one of 2500 physicians nationwide with this designation, studies have shown that quality scores are 15% higher in facilities with certified medical directors.

Resident Reflections - Gretchen Morgan

93 year old Gretchen Morgan doesn’t let her age get in the way of living a happy and productive life. She and her late husband moved to Pisgah Estates 13 years ago from Florida. Gretchen has 4 children, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Gretchen has made many friends at Pisgah Valley and is very involved in the community.

Wellness Center Featured Member: Ira Waters

My name is Ira Waters. I was born and reside in Asheville NC. I live in Camelot off Leicester Highway. I retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with 34 years of service.
I have three brothers and four sisters and my mother is still living, she is 87 years old.

Pisgah Manor receives grant from the State of NC for enhanced dining program

Pisgah Manor is the proud recipient of an $8700 grant from the State of North Carolina Division of Health Services Regulation. This grant will be used to enhance the dining experience for the residents of Pisgah Manor.

Pisgah Estates Volunteer of the year - Gerry Holcombe

Congratulations to Gerry Holcombe! On July 22 she was named Volunteer of The Year at our Campus -wide Volunteer Appreciation Social. Gerry and her husband, Bill, moved to Pisgah Estates in October of 1995 and he was with her until October of 2002 when the Lord took him home.
