Resident Reflections - Gretchen Morgan
93 year old Gretchen Morgan doesn’t let her age get in the way of living a happy and productive life. She and her late husband moved to Pisgah Estates 13 years ago from Florida. Gretchen has 4 children, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Gretchen has made many friends at Pisgah Valley and is very involved in the community. She works out at the Wellness Center and takes a Tai Ji class weekly. She volunteers at the Billy Graham Training Center and sings in the choir at Acton Methodist church where she is a member. She is a member of several clubs, including the book club, knitting club and the Pisgah Chicks (Red Hat Society). Needless to say, Gretchen enjoys staying active. I asked her if she had a secret to longevity and she said, “ I hope for a few more good years. Keeping active, healthy and being social are very important”. She states that she and her late husband decided to move to Pisgah Valley Retirement Community because of the beauty that surrounds the campus , the continuum of care, the friendly people and the fact that the community wasn’t too big.
